I create cutting-edge handbags by merging traditional craft techniques with high-technology equipment and materials. The son of a blacksmith and an equestrian, I learned leather-working techniques from my mother who made and maintained much of her own tack and metallurgy basics from my father whose work reached far beyond traditional iron forge and farrier craft. After studying in the sciences at Brown University, I took an interest in new media and hybrid digital/traditional fine art. In 2003, as a framing experiment, I presented one of my digital paintings as a handbag, and have since made bags for collectors throughout the world. I hope that by blurring the line between art and fashion I can in some small way inspire people to live beautifully.
My wife purchase one of your handbags at the lincoln center art fair. She was also attracted to a red woven handbag with metal fringes. The price was about $169-189. (I dont’ recall the exact amount.)How would I proceed in buying this item for her as a gift?
